Join me as we step through a live reading that will introduce you to hidden keys, and new ways of engaging with the 22 Major Arcana cards, as a way to widen the windows they provide onto both our own psyches and the veiled mysteries of Life. Delivered as an engaging talk that weaves a web of meaning between various esoteric traditions both modern and ancient from the East and West, speaking to the perennial troubling and beautiful human questions we carry in our hearts especially in times of profound change.
In esoteric traditions, keys symbolise rare access: the ability to unlock hidden or secret knowledge. The Rider-Waite deck, especially the Major Arcana, is an uncanny encoding of a very rich tapestry of esoteric symbolism. The cards both stand alone and work together in a number of surprising ways, serving as fascinating mirrors into our own psyche as much as windows onto the mysteries that mystics, fools and scholars have pursued for as long as human beings have had questions, about ourselves, and what is unknown.
Join me as we explore how 22 cards of the Rider-Waite deck can keep surprising us, delighting us and teaching us, drawing us ever deeper into the mysteries and into our own journeys of self-discovery. In this talk we'll step through a live reading and enter deep conversation with the Great Secret through a series of esoteric, or hidden, keys: archetype, sacred geometry, numerology, Taoism, alchemy, Kabbalah, Hermetics, Tantra, mythology and Astrology.
Bio:
Rocco Jarman is a writer, teacher and independent researcher who explores tarot through an extraordinary scholarship of Hermetic philosophy, Eastern and Western esoteric practices, archetypal psychology and the language of symbols. His work looks at the deeper patterns that hold symbolic traditions together, and how they still help us think clearly when we consult oracles or look into our own inner lives. He created The Loom, a way of reading tarot that uses the suits and Major Arcana to explore the archetypes, numbers, shapes and cosmic ideas found in Western mystery traditions. His teaching is for experienced readers who want to go deeper, understand where these traditions come from, and approach such symbolic language with enthusiasm and discipline.
