Reading the Language of the Hands in the Rider Waite Smith
Presented by Liz Dean
Liz Dean explores hand gestures as story: decode the hands, and you add new depth to your card interpretations – wherever you are in your tarot journey.
Reading the Language of the Hands in the Rider Waite Smith explores hand gestures as story: decode the hands, and you add new depth to your card interpretations – wherever you are in your tarot journey.
We’ll first look at open and closed hand positions (the nature of grip or release) in the Aces, then trace hands across the deck that speak of willpower, defence, receiving or blessing – from the manifest intention of the Magician to benediction of the Hierophant.
Although hands may take up a small area of a card, their influence is dynamic and even hidden or tucked-away hands, as in the free-fall Hanged Man or resistant Four of Cups, offer a focus for interpretation.
